Steve Jobs

I walked into Barnes and Noble yesterday only to be attacked by an aggressive display of Steve Jobs books. Not one but TWO tables of this same book were practically blocking the front door.

Barnes and Noble Employee: May I help you?
Me: Uh, do you guys have the Steve Jobs book? (And then I laughed because this was clearly a hilarious thing to say.)
I tried to take a picture of the display, intending to mock it as I am now.
Barnes and Noble Employee: NO PICTURES MA'AM! YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES HERE!
Me:  You can’t?
Barnes and Noble Employee: NO! (she exclaimed, clearly taking her job very seriously)
I spent the next 2 hours inconspicuously creeping around Barnes and Noble, pretending to text on my phone, but secretly taking extremely blurry, distant shots of the display such as this;
I showed them.
Was this a good use of time? No.

Did I get any work done? Obviously not.
Why do I keep asking rhetorical questions? I’m not sure.
But overall, it was pretty fun. For those of you wanting to buy this book, I'm pretty sure you can get a copy at Barnes and Noble.
For those of you more interested in other times I've faced controversy at Barnes and Noble, let me direct you to when I inadvertently kidnapped a child or, my personal favorite, the near fatal car accident.

  4. Heeheehee.....I asked the same question at my B&N but I acted dead serious and then asked if they would price match Walmart. I never thought of taking pics....you have a rebellious side!

  5. I don't think I could own a book with a cover that looks like it may beat the shit out of me and then inform me that I'm stupid. Thank you again for the kind words on my blog. I really appreciate it. Who knows, I might run into you at MD Anderson sometime.
