Brunch at Saks Editor, Annemarie, pictured with Rachel Bilson at this event |
Because you can read more about Brunch at Saks here, I'd rather focus my two cents on the editor behind the blog, Annemarie. I met Annemarie last October when we both attended a Blogher Writers conference in NYC. I was immediately taken with Annemarie's sweet and warm demeanor. As Annemarie and I engaged in some formalities we quickly began to realize how much we had in common. (We have a lot in common. None of which we want to share, thanks.) I think both Annemarie and I were excited about this rather deep connection we were making but also surprised that it was with a virtual stranger. Nevertheless, we went with it and by the time the conference ended we'd solidified our BFF status.
So on that note, please read my bestie's following feature and then hop on over to her
blog. Or else! =)

FAVE PLACES TO SHOP IN LA:
This one is tough! Even though there are tons of great places to shop in LA, I find myself mostly window shopping because the prices are just a little (okay, a lot!) out of my range. But if I'm heading out for a day of shopping, I like the following;
- Kitson at Malibu Country Mart
- Free People in Brentwood
- Zara at the Topanga Mall
- Any of the stores at The Grove
- The Way We Wore - This is a really cool vintage shop that sells vintage handbags, clothing, and shoes by Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and other great designers.
FAVE PLACES TO EAT IN LA:
Being that I have tons of food allergies, I'm always careful as to where I eat out. Luckily there are really great places here in LA that will cater to any special dietary needs. For breakfast I'd recommend Aroma in Studio City or Toast in West Hollywood.
If you're out at the beach I'd stop at John's Garden or Malibu Country Mart for lunch, which is a really small, healthy food shack but insanely good.
For dinner Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks has the best Mexican Food. If you're in the mood for something a little fancier, then One Pico at Shutters on the Beach has great farm to table seasonal food with incredible ocean views.
DESCRIBE YOUR BLOG IN 5 WORDS OR LESS:
All things fashion, interiors, and entertaining. (Okay, that's 6 - sorry!)
WHAT ARE THE PROS OF BLOGGING? CONS?
PROS: The pros of being a blogger are endless. Connecting and meeting people whom you'd never be able to otherwise, being a part of a community where support and encouragement is celebrated, and having the opportunity to work with large companies that I've always admired as a consumer are all things that make blogging worth it for me.
CONS: I'd day the con of blogging is finding a way to do it consistently without burning out or feeling as if it's a burden. Whenever I start to feel overwhelmed with it all, I really try to remind myself why I started blogging in the first place and bring it back to the basics.
THREE BLOGS YOU READ RELIGIOUSLY:
I read a lot of blogs everyday so this is hard! The three I can get lost in for hours are;
Design Sponge
Apartment Therapy
Oh Happy Day
FAVE RAPPER:
I don't listen to a lot of rap, but I do love it. I'm going to bring this back to old school and say Slick Rick. And Jay-Z of course.
