The one where I interview myself

For a while now, I've wanted to compile a list of blogs that I read on a daily basis. So many of my family and friends don't read blogs, other than mine, and that baffles me. (**The fact they don't read blogs is baffling. Not that they read mine. They read mine because I make them.)

This is why I've decided to start featuring some of my favorite blogs/bloggers from time to time. I follow a wide range of blogs which will be reflected. I want to introduce blogs that even people like my Dad would be interested in reading regularly, knowing his interests are The Chicago Bears, Fox News, naps, and Glee.

To kick things off, I've decided to feature myself - partly because I'm vain and partly because I've yet to line up another blogger. But stay tuned. Much better bloggers than me are soon to come.

-LET THE INTERVIEW BEGIN-

BLOGGER:
Megan

BLOG:

CITY OF RESIDENCE:
Houston, Texas USA

FAVE PLACES TO SHOP IN HOUSTON:
  • Cheeky Vintage - It's an old house converted into a shop. It's so legit and awesome that it was featured in Lucky Magazine so there's that.
  • Settlement Goods and Design - It's a higher price point so I usually have to browse as opposed to shop but it's sooooo good.
  • Kuhl-Linscomb - BEST PLACE EVER! Especially if you need to buy someone a gift. This place has 5 seperate buildings each one, specializing in different stuff; baby stuff, kitchen stuff, cosmetics, stationary and cards, bedding, and more. Plus, Beyonce shops here. I mean, that says it all right there.

FAVE PLACES TO EAT IN HOUSTON:

DESCRIBE YOUR BLOG IN 5 WORDS OR LESS:
Not to be taken seriously.

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A BLOGGER?
  • The travel. This little blogging/writing gig I've got going has now facilitated a total of 3 trips to NYC! (BlogHer conference, NY Pitch Conference, and LuckyFABB) These have been some of the best, most inspiring weekends of my life and they all happened because I started a blog.
  • The friendships. Total cliche answer but its true. Especially because I was brand new when I moved to Houston and started my blog. The only friends I've made here, that aren't through Danny, are my blogger friends. I also feel like I now have legit friends, not even acquaintances, but legit friends all over the country; NYC, Atlanta, Austin, etc.

WHAT DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH IN TERMS OF BLOGGING?

Just the pressure I put on myself. I want to have the "best", most well read blog in the world. Because this is such a ridiculous and unattainable aspiration (you can't be the "best" at something that is completely subjective) I'm constantly a little let down by the whole thing. Despite going on a rant here about how I'm not going to let comparison rob my joy, i constantly let comparison rob my joy.

WHAT ARE 3 BLOGS YOU READ OFTEN & ALWAYS?
  • Bleubird Vintage - She's blogging royalty but she lives in Houston which makes me extra intrigued in what she's up to.
  • Triple Max Tons - I read it partly because Kir is my BFF and partly because her blog is AWESOME.
  • Shamepuff - I know, I know.  I'm probably not supposed to admit I read this - but I read it and even laugh sometimes. =)

FAVORITE RAPPER:
  • He's not just my favorite rapper. He's my favorite human being. I love him.

  4. Hold that thought Tara & AM, as I plan to feature you both soon!

L-Kat: I'm not sure what the con of blogging is. That's why I kinda opted out. I suppose I could regret sharing so much information one day!? I'm sure there are ways it will come back to bite me. It's an interesting question though and I'm anxious to see how my future featured bloggers anwser the question.
